Since 2013, the #IFFDAwards have recognized champions of family-oriented policies during the UN Commission for Social Development, honouring those whose vision and commitment have made a lasting difference for families around the world.
Following nominations from IFFD’s national chapters and partners, the International Board of our Federation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2027 IFFD Awards: the Croatian Ministry of Demography and Immigration and the Brazilian think tank Family Talks.

Ministry of Demography and Immigration (Croatia),
The Croatian Ministry of Demography and Immigration has received the 2027 IFFD Award for its comprehensive approach to family policy within the Demographic Revitalisation Strategy to 2033. Its 2025 reform raised parental benefits, doubled the newborn allowance and extended paid paternity leave, leading to a 65% rise in fathers taking non-transferable leave. With sustained investment in kindergartens, extended leave for larger families and its patronage of the “Parenthood is a Plus” campaign, Croatia has become a reference point for work-family balance and demographic resilience in Europe.

Family Talks (Brazil),
Family Talks has been honoured with the 2027 IFFD Award for its advocacy of parenting and family-friendly policies at the highest political and legislative levels in Brazil. As a main supporter of the Inclusive Cities for Sustainable Families Project, Family Talks has brought cities such as São Paulo, Curitiba and Brasília into the network, showing how local governments can put families at the centre of urban policy.
As usual, the IFFD Awards Ceremony will take place during the IFFD Briefing at the United Nations Headquarters next February.
