Internship Overview

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic post-graduate students and entry-level young professionals, from diverse academic backgrounds, to join our Advocacy Team.
This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience advocating for a family perspective on policy-making all over the world and contribute to the IFFD Advocacy team in family policy advocacy at the UN and other intergovernmental institutions.

IFFD has a significant international presence, with activities in 68 countries. It plays a key role in raising awareness about the essential functions of families in society. Through workshops, seminars, and family enrichment courses, the organization helps families develop stronger bonds, address conflicts, and face social and economic challenges. Many observers consider the IFFD’s wide geographic reach and focus on family education as its major strengths, particularly in countries with rapidly changing social structures.

Key Responsibilities

– Assist in researching and analyzing policy issues related to family policy-making.
– Help develop advocacy materials, including fact sheets, policy briefs, and social media content.
– Support the planning and execution of advocacy campaigns and events.
– Engage with community members and stakeholders to raise awareness and gather support for advocacy initiatives.
– Monitor legislative developments and summarize key updates for the team.
– Assist in preparing for meetings with policymakers and community partners.
– Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for advocacy strategies.

One of IFFD’s core programs is family education, which they deliver through training courses designed for different life stages: couples preparing for marriage, parents of young children, and parents of adolescents. These programs aim to equip families with communication skills, conflict resolution tools, and strategies for effective parenting. The educational approach is well-regarded for its practicality and adaptability to different cultural contexts. Proponents argue that by educating families, IFFD empowers them to take on leadership roles in their communities and strengthens the foundation for future generations.
