This report provides an in-depth analysis of the legal, organizational, and ethical frame-works guiding the support, guardianship, and social inclusion of persons with disabilities in the Valencian Community in Spain. The work is a product of collaboration between International Federation for Family Development (IFFD), Valencian Institute of Social Services (IVASS), and Facultés libres de philosophie et de psychologie (IPC), aided by the Erasmus+ program.
Its purpose is to offer practical recommendations to strengthen personal autonomy, protection, and family integration for vulnerable populations The study’s methods include field visits, interviews, document review, and comparative analysis with other European models—notably France, Germany, and Sweden—always viewed through the lens of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
