Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, Governor of the State of Tlaxcala signs the Venice Declaration to promote public policies for the benefit of Tlaxcaltecan families.
Together with elected mayors, Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros committed to the the Inclusive Cities for Sustainable Families Project of by the International Federation for Family Development, a global organization for the promotion of family development in 68 countries and with General Consultative Status at the United Nations.
The accession of the State of Tlaxcala has been possible thanks to the project’s promoter in Mexico, the Institute de Análisis de Política Familiar (IAPF). The good practices of Tlaxcala will enrich the discussion on how family oriented policies are a great mean to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Urban Agenda.
With the signing of the agreement in the facilities of the Xicohténcatl Theater, the State Government and the 60 elected municipalities assumed the responsibility of executing public actions and policies that allow transforming the lives of families and ensuring them a future full of hope and opportunities.
To do this, the administration headed by Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, as well as the municipal authorities that will take office on August 31, must have a precise assessment of the needs to build inclusive, safe, resilient cities so that they become agents of development. sustainable.
The commitment focuses its efforts on addressing 10 family needs: housing, new technologies, education, health, security, clean air, transportation, affordability, leisure, tourism and care for vulnerable families.
President Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros stated that the signing of the Venice Declaration in Tlaxcala represents a historic day because it is the third state in Mexico to join this global call, but also because the municipal governments adhere.
