Leaders from over 20 countries in Europe and Central Asia called for more support for parents of young children at UNICEF’s Regional Conference on Early Childhood Development and Parenting in Belgrade, Serbia.
The two-day conference, organized by the Ministry of Health of Serbia, UNICEF Serbia, and UNICEF Europe and Central Asia Regional Office, highlights the critical influence of parents on child development and the widespread lack of necessary support. Survey data shows that around 70% of parents in 15 countries in the region need parenting support, but half lack access to adequate, quality services and care.
