The Permanent Board will have the participation of representatives from civil society and entities related to family development, as well as representatives appointed by government agencies and other entities.

The families of the Federal District now have a forum dedicated to monitoring and evaluating the implementation of public policies for these nuclei. This is the subject of the ordinance published in the Official Journal of the Federal District by the Secretariat of Family and Youth (SEFJ). The regulation establishes the creation of the Distrital Forum of Public Policies for Sustainable Families as a permanent board formed by representatives from civil society and entities related to family development, as well as representatives appointed by government agencies and other entities.

The FDPS follows the guidelines presented in the Declaration of Venice on Inclusive Cities for Sustainable Families and aims to address challenges and demands faced by this document. Among the actions attributed to the Forum, highlights include the holding of District Conferences on Public Policies for Sustainable Families with the monitoring and analysis of the implementation process of the deliberations made in these environments, as well as the monitoring of the progress of legislative projects related to the Venice Declaration in the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District.

In addition, the initiative provides for the formation of a plenary with responsibilities such as deliberating on public policies related to family sustainability in the Federal District; proposing actions for the evaluation of the impact of current public policies; establishing working groups or specific committees to address issues or specific topics related to family sustainability; proposing to enter into collaboration agreements with other organizations, national and international government agencies, and institutions with similar interests in promoting family sustainability; and proposing to the secretariat to support initiatives for education and awareness of the community on issues related to family sustainability.

“We are seeking actions that will generate results in the coming years regarding the quality of life of families in the Federal District, with studies and exchange of experiences with other international organizations, including. We started the district conferences with representatives from various areas of society dealing with the theme, and we take this additional step with transparency and seriousness that the subject requires,” emphasizes the Secretary of Family and Youth, Rodrigo Delmasso.

The Venice Declaration includes Brasília in the scenario of inclusive cities for sustainable families. The project is aimed at cities that wish to actively contribute to the inclusion of sustainable families. The initiative is guided by 10 points, among which are education, accessibility, and vulnerable families.
