Representatives from diverse sectors are highlighting potential solutions that may evolve into public policies in the upcoming years. This initiative is led by the Secretariat of Family and Youth in a series of District Conferences aimed at deliberating on the District Family Plan with various segments of civil society. The second District Conference for Sustainable Families recently convened in the auditorium of Sinduscon.
Approximately 30 participants, including representatives from social and religious entities, federations, and public administration bodies actively engaged in actions focusing on the theme of enhancing family bonds, presented proposals across 10 thematic areas encompassing housing, new technologies, education, health, security, environmental sustainability, transportation, accessibility, leisure and tourism, and, lastly, vulnerable families.
Helena Mazzaro, Vice President of Sinduscon, emphasized the relevance of the topics discussed. “We delved into extremely comprehensive subjects directly impacting families in need of support. It was a highly fruitful meeting, and we are eagerly anticipating the next one,” she expressed.
Érica Fuchida, President of the Religious Freedom Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association, added, “The conference was enriching as it brought together individuals from various segments who shared their ideas.”
The proposed solutions will be carefully considered for the development of the District Family Plan, aligning with the principles outlined in the Venice Declaration of Inclusive Cities for Sustainable Families. The Plan is envisioned as a foundation for implementing public policies in the years ahead.
Rodrigo Delmasso, Secretary of Family and Youth at the Federal District, emphasized the significance of broadening the discussion, considering it the most democratic and intelligent approach to decision-making. He stated, “We chose to step out of the office and take concrete action, listening to diverse realities and social contexts. This aligns with the role assigned to the secretariat by Governor Ibaneis Rocha, and we aspire to engage all sectors of society in crafting effective public policies.”
