Speech by Ignacio Socias on behalf of IFFD as the promoters of the Venice Declaration during the Observance of the Day of the Region at Kujawsko-Pomorskie (Poland), which included the Awards to 25 local institutions working for families and the commitment to sign the Declaration by more than 50 municipalities.
With the participation of the members of the regional government, members of the parliament and representatives of local governments, a formal observance of the Day of the Region was held on 7th June.
This year, special attention was paid to the value of the family and the #VeniceDeclaration, signed by decision of the regional parliament last October, in the light of the recent events related to the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, followed by the exodus of part of its population to Poland.
Among the invited guests was the representative of the International Federation for Family Development, Ignacio Socias, in the presence of whom 25 institutions working for families were awarded for their work.
The celebration was completed with the ceremonial signing of the commitment of more than 50 municipalities to the Declaration.
