In 1215 the Magna Carta was created to set out a list of basic rules about how the country would be run. It was the first time that ordinary people were protected by rights. Now, all over the world children are protected by a special set of rights created by the United Nations – a group of countries that work together to try and solve some of the world’s problems. The rights for every child are found in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
