The number of kids under 12 hospitalised for anorexia has almost doubled over the last decade to 119 in the past year. The number of children admitted for self-harm shows the same trend, rising from 3,337 in 2004 to 5,953 last year. These are alarming figures, but they are just the tip of an iceberg-sized crisis in child mental welfare in the UK.
