A Seminar to raise awareness on the 20th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family (2014) was organized by Fundación Hacer Familia, a member of IFFD, 26 August 2013, under the title of ‘The sustainable family, key for development’.
The speakers included Renata Kaczmarska, UN Focal Point on the Family, and Oleg Serezhin, Head of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs Technical Cooperation Unit, as well as the Chilean Deputy Minister for Social Affairs, Soledad Arellano, the dean of the Universidad San Sebastián and Sergio Urzúa, professor at Maryland University and economist of the Centro de Estudios Públicos.
The event was preceded by a lunch attended by a hundred politicians, academics and other representatives of the civil society. After an introductory speech by Renata Kaczmarska, they had the opportunity to make questions before staying for the Seminar.
